Oh boy, the mechsplo classic got an actual book that you can get a print copy of. The story that got me seriously looking at dog collars for myself. Kallie's first four tales of mech pilot abuse in one volume, I fucking love this thing.
I'm gonna just do little notes on each individual story in this volume fyi.
WARHOUND: A short little story that introduces you to Sartha Thrace and Her (the Handler). Not my favorite smut-wise, but seeing that shell of a human being called Sartha is so dang good.
Grasping the Weapon: Honestly, I didn't care much for this one on my first read, but fuck I changed my mind the second time. Some absolutely beautiful dialogue in this one, especially from the Handler.
HUNTING HOUND: Okay, I gotta admit I adore this one for the smut. Jesus Christ, that final scene. Also a really lovely look into the brainwashing process, with Leinth Aritimis, the newest hound.
RESCUE HOUND: Kione Monax is the messiest bitch who has ever existed. I love and also completely hate her, she deserves everything she gets lmao. There's also some absolutely lovely mech fights in this story, but the highlight will always be Kione making the worst possible choices every time.
